A thread chaser cleans the internally threaded holes in your engine block. To use a thread chaser is easy, you just run the tool through the holes and remove it, repeating this process until the threads are clean.
While it is similar to a tap, a thread chaser is different in that it is not meant to cut new threads, only clean the existing ones. It is important to clean out any debris such as old sealants, lubricants, gasket material, and anything else that could have fallen into the bolt holes in your engine block.
Performing this extra task will help give you peace of mind during engine assembly. Using a thread chaser allows you to ensure that the internally threaded bolt holes are clean.
Clean threads provide you with accurate torque values while torquing fasteners in your engine build, or repair. Add this to your toolbox and use it with XDP head studs, OE-style bolts, and even studs from other brands.

Products manufactured by XDP carry a 1-Year warranty against defects in materials and craftsmanship. The Warranty is Limited to one (1) year from the date of sale and limited solely to the parts contained within the product's kit.
You may return most new, unopened items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. We'll also pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.).
You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of giving your package to the return shipper, however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (5 to 10 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (3 to 5 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days).
